About Us

Purpose

The Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Early Childhood Education Initiative was created to increase the number of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) family-friendly early childhood settings in the San Francisco Bay Area. All children and their families deserve the best in early care and education, without regard to family composition. Failure to address discrimination and homophobia has significant consequences for both children and their families.

Primary Goals

• Engage LGBT families in shaping early learning programs to be more responsive to the needs of their families
  
  
• Offer training and support for early childhood professionals to better serve children with LGBT parents.
  
  
• Create alliances between the LGBT and early childhood communities.
